BIOSAFOR scientist meet in Karnal (India)

Karnal, India - The in the BIOSAFOR project involved scientists met from 12.- 15. February at CSSR in Karnal (India) to discuss the scientific progress of their research activities.
Gurbachan Singh, Director General of CSSRI (Central Soil Salinity Research Institute) hosted the meeting with a number of technical workshops. Scientists from Bangladesh, India, Germany, The Netherlands, Pakistan and Spain thereby had the unique opportunity to study the broad variety of field experiments on the campus of CSSRI. The meeting contributed to the overall objectives of BIOSAFOR: how can biosaline agro-forestry systems contribute to the productive use of saline wastelands and salt affected lands.
The figure shows the group of scientists discussing Prosopis spp., Acacia spp. and Jatropha curcas agrofrestry trials on the CSSRI campus.
