PeopleA large number of scientists, agronomists and economists contributed to the success of OASE Foundation, Ocean Desert Enterprises and ODE Seavegetables.
OASE has a small and effective management board consisting of Wouter van Dieren (IMSA) and Maarten Koeman (IMSA) and an international advisory board consisting of development experts and scientists from biosaline research institutes. Members are Ashok Koshla (Development Alternatives, New Delhi), Philipp Kauffmann (UNDP, New York), Frank Croon (Croon Consult, The Netherlands) and Faisal Taha (ICBA, Dubai).
The day to day business and research of the OASE Foundation is coordinated by Jeannette Hoek (Director Research and Business Development) and Hans Wiltink. Jeannette Hoek has a background a physical geography and was involved in the organisation of international cultural and scientific projects before she joined OASE Foundation. Hans Wiltink has a background business administration, strategic and organisational development. He is mainly coordinating the activities of the Coloradio Delta Project from the Netherlands.
The activities in Mexico are coordinated by Jose Ramon Noriega. He is an agronomists with more than 20 years experience in the with the cultivation of halophytes (especially Salicornia). He is supported by the farmers of the Ejido and his team from Saline Seed Mexico. Berta Munoz Haak is responsible for the customer affairs of ODE Seavegetables in Europe.
The office of OASE, Ocean Desert Enterprises and ODE Seavegetables is located in Amsterdam. From here most research and project activities are coordinated. The research activities are carried out by own and affiliated researchers with diverse scientific backgrounds from agronomy and biology to environmental economics and business administration. Some of the involved scientists are Janne van den Akker, Mariken Betsema and Symon Miedema.
