The agrosaline project is located in the north-west of Mexico, close to the United States Frontier, in the Ejido Luis Encinas Johnson. The Ejido is part of the Municipality of San Luis Río Colorado in the Mexican State of Sonora.

The Ejido is in the south of the agricultural valley of Mexicali, an area well known for its good soils for agriculture.

The greater part of the Ejido Lands are inside the High Gulf of California and Colorado River Delta Biosphere Reserve, in particular in the Ciénega de Santa Clara, the largest marshland in the Sonora Desert.
