OceanDesertFood is the first commercial daughter of OASE, starting to operate in 2005 as ODE SeaVegetables, it is now an independent company with a new businessname: OceanDesertFood BV.
OceanDesertFood's mission is to produce and sell products from arid and saline envrionments for human and animal consumption. The products are based on the salt-tolerant and halophytic species that are able to grow in these environments. They are produced in a sustainable way and according to biological principles.
OceanDesertFood imports from Mexico Salicorna FreshTips produced on a Salicornia-plantation in Baja California (Mx) and Kelp Chips from Seaweed grown in the Pacific Ocean along the shores of Baja California.
Products in development: Dryfrozen Salicornia and Deepfrozen Salicornia.
OceanDesertFood is based in Ilpendam (N-H), The Netherlands, and supplies to wholesalers, restaurants and biological supply chains in Europe.
